After graduating from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, my artistic career began as a
Children's wear designer, then as a freelance print designer. It was as a print designer that I began to learn how to design for fabric, home furnishings and products. This made licensing a natural next step.
My first license was with Creative Expressions, a paper goods company, in which my designs were placed on exclusive Christmas line for Target. The designs sold out so fast that Target decided to run the program again the following year, which also became a big seller. This was the beginning of a great career in licensing. Today, my whimsical designs can be seen on all sorts of products containing various themes, all of which prove great sellers year after year. I find my inspiration from all different places, such as books, magazines, travels and of course my greatest inspiration comes from my family. As a mother of Two boys there is never a shortage of fun and inspiration. I am often told by those who like my products that the designs put a smile on their face. This is what makes me continue on this journey and hopefully I can continue to inspire others for a long time. |
